1997 The City of New Orleans bestowed the coveted
Golden Hammer Award to Mr. Frank C. Fromherz II for improving the quality of life in the
Iberville Housing Development. This project replaced much of the underground
utilities by an innovated use of trenchless technology.
1992 The General Service Administration, Public Bldg. Service, awarded a
citation to Fromherz Engineers, Inc. in the 1992 GSA Design Awards Program for the Cast
Iron Cornice Repairs at the Historic U.S. Custom House, New Orleans, Louisiana.
1988 The
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region VI cited St. Charles Parish Waterworks
District No. 2 for outstanding operation & maintenance in its 1988 competition.
Fromherz Engineers, Inc. designed the original plant & four enlargements over a
thirty-year period.
1988 The
Chief of Engineers, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, gave the prestigious Honor Award for
Engineering in the 1987 Design & Environmental Awards Program to Fromherz Engineers,
Inc. for the design of the new floodwalls protecting Morgan City & Berwick, LA. This
project also received the Award of Merit, Landscape category & an Honorable Mention,
Environmental category in the same competition.
1987 The
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region VI cited Sewerage District No. 1 of the
Parish of St. Charles for outstanding operation and maintenance of an advanced wastewater
treatment plant in the 1-5 MGD range.
1985 American
City and Country awarded its Honorable Mention in the Wastewater Division to Sewerage
District No. 1 of the Parish of St. Charles following the completion of the project. The
award was given "for unique solutions and prudent financing of required
modifications." The original plant and several enlargements were designed by Fromherz
Engineers, Inc.
1984 Martin Marietta Aerospace and NASA recognized Fromherz Engineers, Inc. for its
outstanding and successful effort in connection with the Component Ablator Facility. Mr.
Jay Shah & Mr. Thomas Fromherz were invited to receive the award and witness the
launch of shuttle mission 41-D as distinguished guests of NASA.
1984 The
National Aeronautics and Space Administration recognized Mr. Jay Shah, Project Manager,
for his contribution to the space program in the design of the Component Ablator Facility
at the Michoud Plant. This 84,000 sq. ft. building has complex and unusual mechanical and
architectural requirements.
1964 The
Water Pollution Control Federation, William B. Hatfield Award was given to Sewerage
District No. 1 of the Parish of St. Charles for outstanding operation and maintenance of
the Norco Sewage Treatment Plant designed by Fromherz Engineers, Inc.
