Fromherz Engineers, Inc. has been active in
the design of airfields since 1941. The firm designed several airfields for the Navy and
Army including the Naval Air Station, Houma, Louisiana, Flexible Gunnery School,
Appalachicola, Florida, and the Support Command Base, Laurel, Mississippi. In post war
years, the firm continued to design facilities for both military and civil airfields. The
