DEPENDABILITY:

The Cortina System has a proven track record internationally. It has been in use internationally for over twenty (20) years.

Globally, about thirty million square feet of housing have been constructed using the Cortina System.

TROPICAL USE:

This system is well suited for use in tropical and coastal conditions.  The Cortina System has been extensively used under such conditions in Mexico, Columbia, Venezuela, & Indonesia.

STRUCTURAL SOUNDNESS:

The Cortina System has been subjected to extreme conditions.  Buildings constructed using this technology withstood the earthquake of 1985 in Mexico City measuring 8.l on the Richter scale with virtually no damage. The system has won several awards overseas.

NO FACTORY REQUIRED:

It does not require a plant. No transportation of any pre-cast or prefabricated elements required.  All "pre-cast" elements are cast at the site over a continuously built foundation.  The system brings the efficiency of mass production techniques and factory type quality control to the construction site.

LIFT AND TILT TECHNOLOGY:

The system does not require the use of beams and columns in the design of the structure. The entire slab of all floors are cast monolithically.  All load bearing walls are likewise cast in a horizontal position similar to the slabs.

Walls and slabs are cast atop each other in the form of a stack. Then special jacks are used to lift the slabs and walls.  The walls tilt into a vertical position as the stack is lifted into position.

DESIGN FLEXIBILITY:

The system is adaptable to a wide range of dimensions, floor plans, and aesthetic variations.

AMAZING SPEED OF CONSTRUCTION:

Once casting and curing have been completed, the actual lifting and erection of the concrete shell for a 4 story building can be done in a day.

The system has been used to deliver buildings ready for occupancy within forty-five (45) days from the start of normal foundation work.

In large projects, by using  proper scheduling, a single system is capable of giving a sustained production level of 100,000 sq. ft. of housing per month after initial setup.


COST ADVANTAGES:

The construction cost using this system is very competitive compared to conventional methods.  Fabrication, transportation, storage, and handling costs
are reduced.  Interest costs are minimal since the high production rate enables quick completion of the entire project.


The use of the Cortina System enables a  developer to directly build the entire site within a reasonably short period of time. Without the need for subcontractors, the builder can maintain better control and realize more profit.  This benefit is just impossible under conventional construction methods.
