MRK, Inc. has been in business for
over 10 years. MRK is an environmental engineering and field services company
specializing in hazardous waste
facilities and site remediation. Sludge stabilization, site closures, and chemical process
construction are areas of expertise. MRK also provides tank facility closures, dewatering,
oil recovery/reclamation, process vessel cleaning, incineration system design, and toxic
handling.
MRK, Inc. is involved with industrial
and municipal waste recycling, resource recovery and low-level radioactive waste treatment
and management.
CLOSED LOOP THERMAL TREATMENT
MRK, Inc. has patents for a system
that eliminates the need for incinerator stack emissions of any type. The
"closed-loop" system eliminates the stack by recycling stack gases back into the
system. Oxygen enrichment is utilized to allow the re-burning of emissions. The hot gases,
do not require reheating from ambient conditions, making the system more efficient.
Advancements in air quality control filtration and membrane technology, has made
recycling of acid gases less destructive to process equipment.
This process is appealing for low-level radioactive waste incineration. The high
maintenance stack filter required in conventional incineration is eliminated by the MRK
system. The actual amount of nuclear waste can be reduced by 95% at the generation point,
drastically reducing shipments to disposal facilities.
Much of the chemical waste is recyclable.
